Back In Chicago

At least....I think that I am.

Sometimes it's hard to be sure.

Then, I look out the window.

The view from our apartment is slowly changing from the dismal grey of a couple of weeks ago. Now that the trees in the city have begun to leaf out, Chicago is greening-up nicely.

The rooftop gardens, the parks and tree-lined streets and the narrow strips of grass have all sprung to life and the cityscape has taken on a very different face.

With all of that green and the great inland sea beyond, the view is really quite beautiful.

To Do:

On my first day back home, I sat down and made a long, long list of everything that I wanted to get done before returning to Chicago.

Well, the list is still the same length - if not longer!

Ah, well.......

I have, at least, managed to get some sewing done. And I found a great silk jacket (at SteinMart, of course!) that looks really cute with several items in my travel wardrobe.

My search for the white handbag of my dreams remains, alas, fruitless.

Hmmm....I guess that's the first thing on my to-do list for Chicago.

Home Stand

I have spent two weeks in Chicago looking for a bathing suit.

Ten minutes back home at my own SteinMart and SUCCESS!!!

I'm back at our place for a couple of weeks - catching up on some gardening and so on.

It's soooo good to actually see green plants and leaves on the trees.

I am so tired of cold weather.

I understand that Springtime in Chicago is really pretty.

Just when the hell will that be, I wonder.......?

Living In An Oprah-Scented Landscape

The apartment is quite nice. Not squalid, at all. And....we can actually see the Lake!

(I am hoping that Southern Boy will post some of his great pics of the view from our balcony. )

The building itself is in an ideal location. There's an "L" stop across the street, a grocery store and restaurant downstairs and I'm less than a ten minute walk from my choice of Saks, Nieman's, Bloomingdale's, Cartier's....

You name it.

Not that their proximity is of any use to me, at all. But, it's fun to look!

Fortunately, I'm the same distance from Filene's Basement, Marshall's and Payless!!

What Is It With The Spitting????

I have never seen any place where people spit like Chicago!!

Men.... women.... on the street.....sidewalk.... the platform of the "L"......e v e r y w h e r e !

It's f*****g amazing!!!

Everyone that I talk to about this place just raves about how great Chicago is.

Will one of you please explain the spitting?
